Restoring an historic building

At Y Segontiwm, our Georgian arts bar in the heart of Caernarfon, we’re bringing that dialogue between art and furniture back to life. As we restore our historic building, we’re curating a collection of Georgian pieces – each one sourced from local families across North Wales and Cheshire. Many come to us from those who are downsizing, seeking reassurance that their treasured pieces will continue to be valued and enjoyed.

Here, a well-worn mule chest might serve as a stage for contemporary sculpture. A Georgian chair, once tucked by a hearth, now offers a seat for conversation and creativity. Each object carries its own quiet poetry, linking the brushstrokes of Reynolds or Constable to the craftsmanship of local cabinet-makers two centuries ago.
