This collection brings together a group of works that reflects my particular fascination with the history, variety and sheer individuality of art made across the centuries. Alongside original nineteenth-century paintings are earlier works on paper, including fifteenth-century woodcuts, offering a wonderful opportunity to see how artists have approached subjects, materials and ideas in very different periods. I have always been drawn to works that have a sense of character and history about them, and these pieces share that quality in different ways. Rather than following a single period or style, the collection brings together works that caught my eye and have continued to intrigue me, creating a personal journey through several centuries of artistic expression.
