We’re supporting Parkinson’s UK to celebrate artists harnessing the power of creativity to manage their chronic condition. Through 2024 we’ll be fundraising from our Caernarfon art gallery. This starts with a launch event on Saturday 6th April featuring original artwork, LIVE poetry recital and harpist.

The Power of Creativity when living with Parkinson’s

Artists, musicians, and writers living with Parkinson’s harness the power of their creativity as a means of expression, demonstrating the transformative power of art in navigating life with a chronic condition. For many, creativity offers a channel through which they can communicate their experiences, and perspectives on Parkinson’s.

Artists, Musicians and Writers

Artists often find solace and purpose in painting, drawing, or sculpting, using art to explore themes of resilience, adaptation, and the complex interplay between mind and body. Through their creations, they challenge stereotypes and misconceptions surrounding Parkinson’s. They invite viewers to see beyond the disease and into the rich inner world of the artist.

Similarly, musicians living with Parkinson’s find comfort and joy in making music. Music becomes a sanctuary where they can express themselves, transcending the limitations imposed by their condition. Others turn to the written word as a means of processing their emotions and connecting with others facing similar challenges.

Celebrating creativity with art, music and poetry

Collectively, artists, musicians, and writers living with Parkinson’s demonstrate the resilience of the human spirit and the power of creativity to transcend physical limitations. Through their art, they not only find healing and meaning in their own lives but also inspire others to embrace their creativity as a tool for self-expression.

At Life: Full Colour we’re delighted to host a show of original artworks. Plus a live poetry recital by Justin Lloyde with harpist Helen Wyn Pari – Saturday 6th April from 2-5pm. We do hope lots you can join us and perhaps donate what you can afford.
