Let me take this opportunity to share with you my joy of original art.

Original Paintings

Of all the arts, it is original paintings that speak to me the most. They can possess an enchanting power to evoke profound joy, transcending mere visual aesthetics. Each brushstroke carries the artist’s essence, infusing the canvas with emotion and vitality. The authenticity of the artwork resonates deeply, inviting viewers into a unique dialogue with the creator’s vision. No more so than in Jill Jones’ latest exhibition: “Joy”.

Following in the footsteps of the Old Masters

In Jill Jones’ latest solo exhibition with us, she follows in the true tradition of the Old Masters – who painted for pure joy.

As Ralph Waldo Emerson stated: “The masters painted for joy, and knew not that virtue had gone out of them. They could not paint the like in cold blood. The masters of English lyric wrote their songs so. It was a fine efflorescence of fine powers.”

Capturing moments

Whether it’s the vibrant colours dancing in harmony or the mesmerising composition capturing fleeting moments, Jill’s paintings give us insight into the artist’s challenges. Claude Monet: “Colour is my daylong obsession, joy and torment.”

Her imagery serves as windows to places I’ve visited, where my imagination can take flight and my emotions run free. Standing before one of her latest works, I can’t help but be swept away by a sense of hope and joy. In this exchange between viewer and creator, I can forge connections that feel as if they speak just to me.

Exhibition opens in our new space “Celf Palas” on Saturday 4^th May – where we’ll have live music from local group The Rain Dodgers to add to the experience!
