At Life: Full Colour, nestled within Y Segontiwm, our gallery has always celebrated the dialogue between past and present. Alongside our contemporary fine art, we are proud to introduce a carefully curated collection of period antiques—an evolving selection of Georgian furniture chosen not only to dress our space, but to find new homes with those who value craftsmanship and provenance. As the only period antique gallery in Caernarfon, we are committed to bringing truly authentic pieces back into the heart of the town.

There is a quiet integrity in original oak—its grain shaped by time, its presence both grounding and enduring. From Anglesey dressers rich with history, to characterful coffers, chairs, and tables sourced from across Wales and England, each piece has been selected for its authenticity and quiet beauty. These are not reproductions, but lived objects—furniture that has served, witnessed, and endured.

Our search has been guided in part by the seminal work of antique dealer Richard Bebb and his book Welsh Furniture 1250–1950: A Cultural History of Craftsmanship and Design – an invaluable reference when identifying original features and recognising alterations to scale or structure. This careful approach ensures that each piece we bring into the gallery carries both integrity and true heritage.

Particularly special to us has been the restoration and return of Caernarfon and Ynys Môn grandfather clocks, their steady rhythm reconnecting with the town once more. Alongside them sits a locally rooted davenport desk, a piece of heritage re-homed within the walls of Y Segontiwm.
